Mkonien
Mkonien is a small settlement located in the southeastern part of the country, within the administrative boundaries of the Kivu province. It falls under the local jurisdiction of the Malunza district and is approximately 18 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital. The village is situated at an elevation of around 1,200 meters above sea level, in a region characterized by rolling hills and dense tropical forest. The local climate is tropical rainforest, with a wet season spanning from November to March and a drier period from April to October.
