Materialefejl

Materialefejl is a term used to describe defects or nonconformities in materials that can affect the performance, safety, or reliability of a product. It covers flaws in raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished materials, including inconsistencies in composition, microstructure, mechanical properties, or contamination that arise during procurement, processing, or storage.

Common examples include metal alloys with improper heat treatment, plastics with contamination or phase separation, composites with delamination or fiber misalignment, ceramics with microcracks, or incorrect material grades mislabelled in the supply chain.
