The name is a neologism formed from elements suggesting mass measurement and a suffix common to measurement devices, with no formal standard definition in established instrumentation lexicons. As such, masseatomer is not a recognized, widely implemented device in peer‑reviewed practice and should be distinguished from established technologies such as mass spectrometry or calorimetry.
