Mammografialla

Mammografialla is a Swedish-language term used in medical contexts to refer to mammography, including the examination procedure and the radiographic images produced during a breast imaging session. It is commonly used in clinical notes and patient information to describe breast imaging with X-ray techniques.

The examination is conducted to screen for or diagnose breast cancer. During the procedure, the patient stands in front of an X-ray unit while the breast is compressed to obtain clear images. Modern practice typically uses digital mammography, and many programs also employ three-dimensional tomosynthesis. Images are usually taken from two views for each breast to improve detection of abnormalities.
