MCIs stands for Mild Cognitive Impairments. It is a decline in cognitive abilities that is noticeable to the individual or their close acquaintances but is not severe enough to interfere with daily life or independent functioning. MCIs can affect memory, thinking, and language skills. People with MCI are at a higher risk of developing dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease, though not everyone with MCI progresses to dementia.
