Lélegeztetést refers to the process of artificial ventilation or breathing support. It is a crucial medical intervention used when a person's natural breathing is insufficient or has stopped. This can occur due to various reasons, including respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, drug overdose, or severe trauma. The primary goal of lélegeztetést is to ensure adequate oxygen supply to the body and remove carbon dioxide.

There are several methods of lélegeztetést. Basic life support techniques include mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and the use of a bag-valve-mask (BVM) device. These methods involve manually forcing air into the lungs. In more advanced medical settings, mechanical ventilators are used.
