Lukedue is a fictional town in the fantasy setting of the Lukedue Chronicles, a multimedia project that spans novels, a role-playing game, and an animated adaptation. Created by the writer and designer known as Vale, the town serves as the central hub for the series’ political intrigue and cultural life. In-universe, Lukedue is situated at the confluence of the Luminar and Cinder rivers, in the northern territories of the realm of Veridia.

Geography and population: The town lies on a high knoll surrounded by pine forests and terraced hills. The population numbers about 12,000 residents in the current timeline, composed of humans, dwarves, and a minority of wandering guild-mages. The urban layout includes the Old Quarter, the Market Ring, the Haven district, and the ceremonial Luminar Gate, which marks the boundary with the river bend.

Economy and governance: Lukedue operates a charter economy governed by a town council elected by guilds and neighborhoods. The main sectors are timber, textiles, and magical reagents harvested from nearby glades. The council shares power with the Guild Syndicate, a semi-private association that mediates trade and security. The city is also known for its guild halls and a legendary clocktower that reputedly governs tides of fortune.
