Loipen
Loipen are prepared cross-country ski trails used for classic and skating skiing. The term is German, with Loipe (singular) and Loipen (plural). They are typically found in regions with reliable snow cover, especially the Alps, Nordic countries, and other European winter destinations. Loipen differ from downhill pistes in that they are groomed for long-distance cross-country travel and do not include steep descents.
Most loipen are organized as networks around towns or through valleys, offering loops, spur routes, and point-to-point
Loipen vary in length from short village loops of a few kilometers to long-distance routes exceeding 60
