Lobodon
Lobodon is a genus of phocid seals, commonly known as monk seals. The sole living species within this genus is the Weddell seal, Lobodon carcinophaga. These seals are distinctive for their large size and their deep, resonant calls. They inhabit the coastal waters and pack ice of Antarctica, where they are among the most southerly breeding mammals.
