Linoleikkaus is a printmaking technique. It involves carving an image into a block of linoleum. Linoleum is a relatively soft material, making it easier to carve than wood. The artist uses sharp tools to cut away the areas that will not receive ink. The raised surface of the linoleum block then holds the ink.
