Lichtschächten
Lichtschächten, which translates to "light shafts" in English, are architectural features commonly found in buildings, particularly in basements and lower levels. Their primary purpose is to allow natural light and ventilation to penetrate into otherwise dark or poorly lit spaces. These shafts are typically vertical or angled openings constructed around windows below ground level.
The construction of a Lichtschacht usually involves forming a recess or well adjacent to the building's foundation.
Beyond illumination and ventilation, Lichtschächten also play a role in preventing moisture buildup. By allowing air
