Laughingthrushes

Laughingthrushes are a diverse group of passerine birds belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. These birds are found primarily in Asia, with a distribution ranging from the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia to China. The name "laughingthrush" comes from the often noisy and chattering calls they produce, which can sound like a series of chuckles or laughs.

There are many species of laughingthrushes, and they vary considerably in size, plumage, and habitat. Some are small and retiring, while others are larger and more conspicuous. Their diets typically consist of insects, fruits, and nectar. They are often found in dense undergrowth, forests, and shrublands, making them challenging to observe at times.
