LEDtavler

LEDtavler are electronic displays using light-emitting diodes arranged in a grid to present numerical or textual information, graphics, or video. They are used both indoors and outdoors and can be single-color or full-color.

They come in various formats: compact indoor modules for information boards or signage; outdoor billboards or stadium displays with weatherproof enclosures; large video walls built from multiple panels. The resolution is determined by pixel pitch—the distance from one LED to the next—and the physical size.

Each LED is controlled by LED drivers and a controller board that sends a video signal. RGB LEDs create colors through additive mixing. Signals are typically distributed via data lines and power to modular cabinets, with calibration and brightness management. Outdoor signs require weatherproofing and heat management.

LEDtavler are common for information displays in transportation hubs, public squares, stadiums, and corporate lobbies, as well as advertising signs, stock tickers, and event backdrops.

They offer high brightness and contrast, wide viewing angles, long service life, and energy efficiency. Limitations include higher upfront cost, color aging, potential pixel failure, lower resolution for a given size compared with LCD at the same price, and sensitivity to extreme temperatures if not properly designed.

Maintenance tasks typically include regular cleaning, brightness calibration, thermal management, and periodic module replacement. Outdoor installations require proper waterproofing, power supply redundancy, and compliance with local electrical standards.
