LEDbaserede describes technology, products, or systems that rely primarily on light-emitting diodes as the main light source or functional element. The term is used in Danish and related Nordic contexts to distinguish LED-based approaches from those using traditional lighting or other illumination technologies.

Technical scope includes LED emitters arranged in arrays, associated electronic drivers, thermal management, and control interfaces. LED-based designs emphasize energy efficiency, long service life, fast switching, and tunable color output. Characteristics such as color temperature, color rendering index (CRI), luminous efficacy, and dimming capability are central to evaluation.

Applications span indoor and outdoor lighting, architectural illumination, signage and displays, automotive lighting, and horticultural lighting for controlled-environment agriculture. In data communications, LED-based systems enable high-speed visible light communication (VLC) and related protocols, sometimes described as Li-Fi in consumer contexts.

Advantages of LED-based solutions include reduced energy consumption, lower maintenance due to longer lifespans, compact form factors, and flexibility in color control and form factor. Challenges include upfront costs, the need for effective thermal design to preserve lumen output, dependence on reliable drivers, and concerns about blue-light exposure with some use cases.

As technology advances, LED-based approaches increasingly dominate modern lighting and display deployments, often integrated with smart controls and sensors to optimize performance and energy use.
