It is important to use products suited for the intended environment and to follow manufacturer guidance for installation.

Safety and standards notes often include certifications such as CE or RoHS, and, in some regions, additional electrical compliance marks. Always inspect for damaged insulation, avoid overloading sockets, and unplug before cleaning or storage. Replacement practices vary; some strings use replaceable bulbs while many contemporary LED sets use integrated LEDs.
