Küberfüüsilisi

Küberfüüsilisi, a term of Estonian origin, translates to cyber-physical systems. These are systems that integrate computation, networking, and physical processes. In a cyber-physical system, embedded computers and networks monitor and control the physical process, usually with feedback loops where physical processes affect computations and vice versa.

The physical part of a cyber-physical system can be diverse, ranging from industrial machines and automotive systems to critical infrastructure like power grids and even the human body through medical devices. The computational part involves algorithms, sensors, actuators, and communication networks that enable the system to interact with its physical environment and with other systems.

Cyber-physical systems are characterized by their deep integration and interdependence. They are designed to be intelligent, adaptable, and often autonomous, capable of making decisions and taking actions in real-time based on the data they collect. Examples include smart grids that optimize energy distribution, autonomous vehicles that navigate and react to their surroundings, and sophisticated manufacturing robots that coordinate their actions. The development and deployment of these systems raise significant considerations regarding security, privacy, reliability, and ethical implications.
