Kuviokuvio

Kuviokuvio (Finnish: pattern motif) is a term used in Finnish art, design, and manufacturing to describe decorative patterns composed of repeating motifs or arranged images that cover a surface. The concept covers a wide range, including geometric tilings, floral borders, abstract motifs, and composite designs that combine multiple elements. In use, kuviokuvio creates visual rhythm through repetition and variation, often employing symmetry, scale, and color to establish a cohesive surface language.
