Kurierinnen

Kurierinnen are female couriers or messengers in German-speaking contexts. The term is the feminine form of Kurier, derived from the French word courrier, and denotes a person who delivers letters, documents, and parcels, often under time pressure.

Historically, organized mail and courier networks emerged with state postal systems and military communications. The profession was predominantly male in many periods, but women worked as Kurierinnen in some areas, especially in urban post offices and private networks.

Today, Kurierinnen work in postal and courier companies, logistics firms, or e‑commerce fulfillment centers. Duties include collecting items, sorting dispatches, planning routes, and delivering with safety and reliability.
