Koszowy, officially known as the Republic of Kosovo, is a partially recognized sovereign state in the Balkans, located in the central Balkans region of Europe. It declared independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008, following a period of political turmoil and ethnic tensions. Kosovo’s declaration of independence was met with varying levels of recognition from the international community; as of 2024, it is recognized by 98 out of 193 UN member states, including key European nations like Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, but not by Serbia, Russia, China, or several other countries.
