Kortisonipistokset, often referred to as corticosteroid injections, are a medical treatment involving the injection of a synthetic corticosteroid into a specific area of the body. Corticosteroids are powerful anti-inflammatory medications that mimic the effects of cortisol, a hormone produced naturally by the adrenal glands. Their primary function in this context is to reduce inflammation and pain.

These injections are commonly used to treat a variety of localized inflammatory conditions.
