Konfliktiõigus
Konfliktiõigus, also known as Private International Law or conflict of laws, is a body of law that governs legal disputes involving a private international element. This means that the dispute has connections to more than one legal system, such as when parties to a contract are from different countries, or when a tort occurs in a jurisdiction different from where the parties reside. The primary function of konfliktiõigus is to determine which jurisdiction's laws should apply to the dispute (choice of law), and which court has the authority to hear the case (jurisdiction). It also addresses the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.
