Kokonaiskone

Kokonaiskone is a Finnish term used in engineering to describe an integrated machine that performs a complete set of production steps within a single, self-contained unit. Rather than a collection of separate devices arranged on a line, a kokonaiskone combines processing stations, material handling, and control logic into one cohesive system. It is typically designed around a modular architecture, enabling customization while maintaining a compact footprint.

Typically, a kokonaiskone includes a centralized control system (PLC or embedded computer), an integrated human-machine interface (HMI), safety systems, servo drives or robotics, actuators, sensors, and networking for data collection (IoT).
