Klaxosaurs

Klaxosaurs are a fictional species of monstrous creatures that serve as the primary antagonists in the anime series Darling in the FranXX. These massive, insectoid beings are characterized by their aggressive nature and their ability to regenerate rapidly, making them formidable opponents for humanity's mechs, known as FranXX. Their origins are shrouded in mystery, but they are believed to be either artificial creations or mutated forms of prehistoric life.

The Klaxosaurs possess diverse physical forms, with some exhibiting a quadrupedal stance while others are bipedal. Their bodies are typically covered in a hardened exoskeleton, and they are equipped with sharp claws, powerful jaws, and often projectile weapons. Some Klaxosaurs also possess specialized abilities, such as emitting energy blasts or generating defensive barriers. Humanity's response to the Klaxosaur threat involves the use of specialized mechs called FranXX, piloted by teenagers known as "Parasites." The continuous struggle against the Klaxosaurs has led to the formation of APE, a governing body that controls human society and dictates the war effort.
