Keresztüljutás, also known as the "Passing of the Cross," is a traditional Catholic devotion that commemorates the final hours of Jesus Christ's life, from His condemnation to His burial. The practice involves a group of individuals carrying or following a crucifix or an image of the crucified Christ, often accompanied by a priest, while reciting prayers and singing hymns.

The devotion originated in the Middle Ages and has been particularly popular in Spain, where it is known as "El Vía Crucis." The ceremony typically takes place during Lent, the 14 days preceding Easter, and is often held in churches or outdoor spaces. Participants may walk in procession, kneel in prayer, or simply follow the cross silently, depending on the specific tradition.

The Keresztüljutás serves multiple purposes within the Catholic faith.
