Keramikkerne is a term used in the field of materials science and engineering to refer to ceramic cores. These cores are essential components in the manufacturing of complex hollow structures, particularly in metal casting processes like investment casting and die casting. The primary function of a ceramic core is to create internal cavities within a metal casting that would otherwise be impossible to form.

These cores are typically made from refractory ceramic materials that can withstand the high temperatures involved in molten metal pouring and solidification. Common materials include silica, alumina, and zirconia, often mixed with binders and other additives to achieve the desired strength, thermal expansion, and surface finish.
