Kasvovedellä

Kasvovedellä, often translated as facial toner, is a skincare product applied to the face after cleansing. Its primary purpose is to remove any residual dirt, makeup, or oil that may have been left behind by the cleanser. Toners also help to rebalance the skin's pH level, which can be disrupted by the alkaline nature of some soaps and cleansers.

Different types of facial toners cater to various skin concerns. Some are alcohol-based and can be astringent, helping to tighten pores and reduce excess oil. Others are alcohol-free and formulated with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or botanical extracts to hydrate and soothe the skin. These gentler formulations are often preferred for dry or sensitive skin types.

The application of a toner is typically done by dispensing a small amount onto a cotton pad and gently wiping it across the face and neck. Alternatively, some toners can be applied directly to the hands and patted onto the skin. Following cleansing, toner prepares the skin to better absorb subsequent skincare products, such as serums and moisturizers, enhancing their effectiveness. The use of facial toner is considered an optional but beneficial step in a comprehensive skincare routine.
