Kantband
Kantband is a narrow strip of fabric used to finish the edges of textiles, particularly in sewing and tailoring. The term denotes a binding tape or edging and is used in German-speaking contexts as well as in Dutch and other European sewing terminology. Kantband may be made from the same fabric as the garment or from a contrasting material, and it serves to reinforce and neatly finish raw edges while optionally providing decorative detail.
