Kanavahäiriöihin refers to a group of neurological conditions characterized by abnormal neuronal activity in the brain. These disruptions can manifest in various ways, most commonly as seizures. Epilepsy is the most well-known condition associated with kanavahäiriöihin, defined as a recurrent tendency to experience seizures.

The underlying causes of kanavahäiriöihin are diverse. Antiepileptic medications are the mainstay of treatment, with the choice of drug depending on the seizure type and individual patient factors. In some refractory cases, surgery, dietary therapies, or neuromodulation techniques may be considered.
