Kagenou

Kagenou is a fictional character who serves as the protagonist of the light novel, manga, and anime series "The Eminence in Shadow." He is also known by his alias, Shadow. Kagenou's core motivation is to achieve the status of an "eminence in shadow," a shadowy figure who subtly manipulates events from behind the scenes, a concept he developed during his previous life as a high school student obsessed with chuunibyou tropes.

In his current life, Kagenou is reborn as Cid Kagenou, a young boy with immense latent magical power. He dedicates himself to training in secret, mastering a vast array of combat techniques and magical abilities. However, unbeknownst to him, his actions and the members of Shadow Garden's efforts are often misinterpreted by the world around them, leading to genuine, albeit accidental, world-saving events. Cid's character is defined by his nonchalant attitude, his obsession with maintaining his chuunibyou persona, and his surprising effectiveness as a fighter despite his often absurd motivations. His quest for ultimate power and his desire to be the unseen mastermind drive the narrative of "The Eminence in Shadow."
