Iomora is a fictional city-state in a fantasy setting, designed as a major coastal port and cultural crossroads with a long maritime tradition and a diverse population.

Geography and urban layout: Located on the southern coast of the continent of Aralon along the Gulf of Nareth, Iomora combines a natural harbor with an extensive canal network. The city centers on a basalt citadel perched on a hill, with whitewashed districts spreading toward the harbor and quays.

History: The city’s founding is traced to seafaring clans in the early medieval era. It grew through trade, shipbuilding, and strategic alliances, eventually attaining regional prominence during the Age of Trade. In recent centuries, Iomora has been governed to balance mercantile and civic interests, emerging from earlier factional conflict into a stable political order.

Government and politics: Iomora is governed by a Triarchy known as the Conclave of Three, comprising the Merchant Council, the Guild of Mariners, and the Ward of Elders. The Grand Vizier serves as chief executive and presides over the Conclave, while laws are debated in the Assembly of Representatives and enacted by vote.
