Intradermaalne

Intradermaalne is a term used to describe a hypothetical class of dermal microdevices that integrate intradermal sensing with targeted drug delivery. It is a concept discussed in speculative research on skin-based biosensing and therapy and is not an established clinical term or widely deployed technology at present.

Design and components commonly envisioned for Intradermaalne include a flexible, skin-conforming patch containing micro-needles to access interstitial fluid, integrated biosensors (electrochemical or optical), a processing unit, a wireless communication link, and a reservoir or release mechanism for therapeutic payloads. Power is typically imagined to come from thin-film batteries or energy-harvesting elements.

Function and operation rely on real-time monitoring of biomarkers in the dermal interstitial fluid, such as glucose, lactate, pH, or inflammatory indicators. When sensor data cross predefined thresholds, the system would trigger localized release through stimuli-responsive materials or microvalves, providing on-demand therapy while transmitting data to an external reader for monitoring.

Applications and potential impact are widely discussed in theoretical contexts and early-stage research. Possible uses include management of chronic conditions like diabetes, wound healing, localized cancer therapies, and dermatological treatments, as well as diagnostic monitoring. Potential advantages include reduced systemic exposure, rapid response, and continuous data streams, with challenges including biocompatibility, manufacturing complexity, data privacy, and regulatory approval.
