Ilmalift

Ilmalift is a marketing term used in cosmetic medicine to describe non-surgical facial lifting and skin-tightening procedures. It is not a single approved device or technique; rather, it encompasses a range of energy-based treatments marketed under the same name by different manufacturers.

Technologies associated with ilmalift procedures may include infrared or near-infrared light, radiofrequency energy, and ultrasound, or combinations thereof. The common objective is to heat dermal and subdermal tissues to stimulate collagen remodeling and smoothen lax skin, yielding a subjective lifting effect.

Procedure characteristics vary by device and clinic, but ilmalift treatments are typically performed on an outpatient basis with no surgical incisions. Sessions may last from 20 to 60 minutes; cooling measures and topical anesthetics are occasionally used. Most patients require multiple sessions for optimal results, followed by occasional maintenance treatments.

Outcomes are variable and depend on factors such as age, skin quality, and treatment parameters. Reports range from subtle improvements in texture and contour to modest lifting, with effects often lasting several months to a couple of years in some cases. Results are generally described as temporary.
