IFC

IFC stands for Industry Foundation Classes in the context of building information modeling (BIM). It is an open, neutral data model and file format designed to enable interoperability in the architecture, engineering, construction, and facilities management industries. Maintained by buildingSMART International, IFC is standardized as ISO 16739 and describes elements such as projects, sites, buildings, storeys, spaces, products, and processes, along with their geometries and properties. The model enables software applications to exchange information about building projects throughout the lifecycle, from design and fabrication to construction and operation, reducing data loss and duplication across disparate systems.

IFC may also refer to the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group established
