These traits are typically integrated, reflecting trade-offs between brain enlargement, feeding mechanics, respiratory efficiency, and skull stability. In humans and other primates, head adaptations correlate with bipedalism and tool use, while in carnivores and other mammals they relate to sensory ecology and feeding strategies.
