HolzFaserAufbauten
HolzFaserAufbauten, or wood-fiber assemblies, are building components based on wood-fiber materials. They include panels, laminates, and multilayer board systems used in timber construction for interior and exterior applications. These assemblies aim to provide thermal insulation, sound absorption, and forming surfaces, often combining structural compatibility with breathable moisture management.
Wood fibers from softwood or hardwood are bound with adhesives and pressed into boards or layered composites.
Common applications are interior wall and ceiling panels, exterior cladding substrates, roof underlays, and ventilated façades
Advantages include renewable resource, potential for low embodied energy, good acoustic performance, and compatibility with timber
European guidelines and standards regulate wood-based panels and insulation products, ensuring performance criteria for fire safety,
