Haitian American is a term used to describe a United States resident who is of Haitian descent. The community includes people born in Haiti who later migrated to the United States as well as U.S.-born individuals with Haitian heritage. Haitian Americans often maintain language ties to Haitian Creole and French, while also using English in daily life, education, and civic engagement. The term encompasses diverse religious, cultural, and professional backgrounds.

Historically, major waves of Haitian immigration occurred in the late 20th century, especially during the regime of Jean-Claude Duvalier and after; more recently in the 1990s and following the 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince. Today, significant Haitian American populations are concentrated in Florida (notably the Miami metropolitan area), New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, with notable communities in New Orleans and Chicago as well. The Haitian American population is one of the largest Haitian diaspora groups outside of Haiti.

Cultural life includes media, music such as kompa and rara, cuisine, and religious institutions. Community organizations, churches, and schools support language preservation, social services, and entrepreneurship. Haitian Americans have contributed to politics, business, arts, and sports in the United States, while maintaining transnational ties with Haiti through family networks, remittances, and development work.
