Høyttalerjustering, also known as speaker calibration or speaker tuning, refers to the process of optimizing the performance of loudspeakers to achieve the most accurate and pleasing sound reproduction possible within a specific listening environment. This adjustment is crucial because loudspeakers, no matter how well-engineered, interact with their surroundings, and these interactions can significantly alter the sound.

These room modes can cause certain frequencies to be either amplified or attenuated, leading to an uneven frequency response and a distorted listening experience.
