The procedure is typically undertaken when other diagnostic methods have been inconclusive, or when the diagnosis of a drug reaction is crucial for future treatment decisions. Patients are closely monitored for any signs or symptoms indicative of an allergic or adverse reaction. This can include skin rashes, itching, breathing difficulties, or other systemic symptoms.
