Guildstate

Guildstate is a term used in multiplayer online games and related APIs to describe the serialized representation of a guild’s current state. It encapsulates dynamic guild information required by clients, servers, and third‑party tools to render and manage a guild page, coordinate activities, and persist data between sessions.

A typical guildstate object includes ids and identifiers (guild id, name, tag), static attributes (crest, motto, creation date), and dynamic data (member list with ranks and online status, member_count, max_members, online_count). It may also contain financial data (guild treasury or bank balance), permissions schemes mapping ranks to allowed actions, pending invitations and applications, and scheduled events or notices.

In practice, guildstate is often serialized as JSON or XML for network transmission and stored in databases. Client software may fetch it via a guilds API endpoint such as /guilds/{id}/state, while add-ons and tools read from the same source to display rosters, events, and bank balances. The exact fields and their meanings vary by game and implementation.

Because guildstate contains information about members and internal guild operations, access is typically restricted to guild members or authorized clients; privacy and rate‑limit considerations apply in public or semi‑public APIs.
