Germanwings Flug 4U 9525 was a scheduled passenger flight operated by Germanwings, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, on March 24, 2015. The flight departed from Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Spain and was en route to Düsseldorf International Airport in Germany. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, was piloted by Andreas Lubitz, a 28-year-old German man who had previously worked as a pilot for Germanwings.

During the flight, Lubitz intentionally crashed the aircraft into the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board. The incident was the deadliest single-aircraft accident in German history and the second-deadliest in European aviation history. The crash was later determined to be a deliberate act of suicide by Lubitz, who had been suffering from depression and had previously attempted suicide.
