Germanwings
Germanwings was a German low-cost airline owned by Lufthansa. It was founded in 2002 and began operations in 2003. Initially operating as a low-cost subsidiary, it gradually integrated more heavily into Lufthansa's operations, with Lufthansa's other low-cost carrier, Eurowings, eventually taking over the Germanwings brand. In 2015, the airline became infamous for Germanwings Flight 9525, a crash in the French Alps. Following this event and further integration, the Germanwings brand was fully absorbed into Eurowings in late 2015.
