Geotextilen

Geotextilen, also known as geotextiles, refers to permeable fabrics used in civil engineering and construction projects for soil stabilization, separation, filtration, drainage, and reinforcement purposes. Made primarily from synthetic materials such as polypropylene or polyester, geotextilen are designed to withstand environmental factors like chemical exposure and UV radiation, ensuring durability and longevity in various applications.

These materials are applied in a range of infrastructure projects, including road and railway construction, erosion control, embankments, retaining walls, and landfills. Their primary functions include preventing the mixing of different soil layers, facilitating the flow of water while retaining soil particles, and providing reinforcement to improve the load-bearing capacity of ground structures.

There are two main types of geotextilen: woven and non-woven. Woven geotextilen are produced by weaving fibers together, offering high tensile strength and stability. Non-woven geotextilen are created through bonding fibers using mechanical, chemical, or thermal methods, providing superior filtration and drainage capabilities.
