Gebläsekonvektoren

Gebläsekonvektoren, often translated as fan coil units, are heating and cooling devices used in HVAC systems. They combine a fan with a heating or cooling element, typically a coil containing hot or chilled water, or a refrigerant. The fan draws room air in, passes it over the coil, and then expels the conditioned air back into the room. This process allows for localized temperature control within a space.

These units are commonly found in commercial buildings such as hotels, offices, and hospitals, as well as in some residential applications. Their primary advantage is their ability to provide both heating and cooling from a single unit, offering flexibility in climate control. Gebläsekonvektoren are also known for their relatively quick response time, meaning they can change the temperature of a room more rapidly than some other heating and cooling systems.

The operation of a gebläsekonvektor is relatively simple. A thermostat controls the fan speed and the flow of water or refrigerant to the coil. When heating is required, hot water circulates through the coil, and the fan blows air over it, warming the room. For cooling, chilled water or refrigerant flows through the coil, and the fan cools the air. Various types of gebläsekonvektoren exist, including wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, and floor-mounted models, allowing for different installation possibilities. Maintenance typically involves cleaning or replacing air filters and checking the coil for cleanliness and proper function.
