G20s is an informal way to refer to the Group of Twenty, or to its series of annual gatherings, though the standard term is the G20. It is a forum for international economic cooperation that brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, and, at the leader level, heads of state or government from major economies. The forum originated in 1999 as a meeting of finance ministers and central bank chiefs and expanded to include leaders at the summit level in 2008 to address broader global challenges.
