Fyrfärgstryckning

Fyrfärgstryckning, also known as CMYK printing, is a subtractive color model used in color printing. It is a standard process for producing a wide range of colors by combining four primary inks: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black). Each color ink is transparent, and when layered, they create different hues. Cyan absorbs red light, Magenta absorbs green light, and Yellow absorbs blue light. Black ink is included for deeper blacks, better contrast, and to reduce the amount of cyan, magenta, and yellow ink needed for dark shades, which saves ink and improves drying time.

The process involves separating an image into four different color layers. Each layer is then converted into a grayscale image, which dictates how much of the corresponding ink will be applied to that area. During printing, tiny dots of each of the four inks are applied in precise patterns. The size and spacing of these dots, known as halftones, determine the final color perceived by the viewer. When viewed from a distance, the dots blend together, creating the illusion of a full spectrum of colors. Fyrfärgstryckning is widely used in commercial printing for magazines, brochures, packaging, and most other printed materials that require color reproduction. It is a cost-effective and versatile method for achieving a vast array of colors with a limited set of inks.
