Fiberoskoopi

Fiberoskoopi is a medical procedure that uses a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to visualize the inside of the body. This instrument, known as a fiberoscope or endoscope, allows physicians to examine internal organs and structures without the need for major surgery. The flexible nature of the fiberoscope enables it to navigate through narrow passages and curves within the body, such as the digestive tract or airways.

During a fiberoscopic examination, the doctor inserts the fiberoscope through a natural opening like the mouth, nose, or anus, or through a small incision. The camera transmits images to a monitor, providing a real-time view of the internal area. This visual aid is crucial for diagnosing various conditions, identifying abnormalities, and sometimes even performing minor therapeutic interventions like taking tissue samples (biopsies) or removing small polyps.

The applications of fiberoskoopi are extensive. It is commonly used in gastroenterology to examine the esophagus, stomach, and intestines (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). In pulmonology, it's used to inspect the lungs and airways (bronchoscopy). Urology utilizes it to view the urinary tract (cystoscopy), and in otolaryngology, it helps examine the ear, nose, and throat.
