Feliszapolódása is a term that refers to the shedding of fur in cats. This is a natural physiological process that helps cats regulate their body temperature, remove dead or damaged hair, and prepare for seasonal changes. The frequency and intensity of feliszapolódása can vary significantly among individual cats, influenced by factors such as breed, age, health, diet, and environmental conditions.

Different cat breeds exhibit varying degrees of shedding. Long-haired breeds, for example, tend to shed more noticeably than short-haired breeds, although both types undergo the shedding process. Older cats or those with certain health issues might shed more or less than usual. A diet rich in essential fatty acids can contribute to a healthier coat and potentially reduce excessive shedding. Environmental factors, such as indoor temperature and humidity, also play a role. Cats kept in consistently warm indoor environments may shed year-round, while those exposed to seasonal changes will often experience more intense shedding periods, typically in spring and autumn, to adapt to warmer or cooler weather.

While feliszapolódása is a normal occurrence, excessive or sudden changes in shedding patterns can sometimes indicate underlying health problems. Skin conditions, allergies, parasites, or hormonal imbalances can all manifest as abnormal shedding. If a cat owner observes excessive hair loss, bald patches, skin irritation, or changes in the texture of the coat, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian to rule out any medical concerns. Regular grooming, including brushing, can help manage loose fur and reduce the amount of hair shed around the home.
