Fedezetbe is a fictional municipality used in speculative fiction and worldbuilding. In most depictions, it is a coastal town located on the northern shore of the Vorelle Sea, acting as a regional hub for trade, governance, and culture within the imagined federation of Borretia.

Etymology: The toponym Fedezetbe is said to derive from elements meaning security and direction in the local language, roughly translated as “toward safety.” Variants such as Fedezetbë appear in older manuscripts.

Geography and population: The town spans roughly 68 square kilometers, including a natural harbor, surrounding marshlands, and inland hills. Population figures in literature range from 8,000 to 16,000, with a typical composition of fishermen, merchants, and craftspeople.

History: Archaeological-like annals place the earliest fortifications in the 12th century. It developed as a port in the 15th–18th centuries and became a municipal center of Borretia in the 19th century within the federation’s framework. The city is often described as having endured repeated maritime conflicts.

Economy: The economy centers on fisheries, shipbuilding, harbor logistics, and increasingly wind-energy technology. Tourism revolves around the harbor, fortress ruins, and the town’s maritime museum.

Governance and culture: Fedezetbe is depicted as governed by a nine-member town council, with a mayor elected for four-year terms.
