A minimum in the AMDF often corresponds to the period. Harmonic product spectrum (HPS) is another technique that exploits the harmonic structure of voiced sounds. It involves multiplying spectral components at different frequency offsets to enhance the fundamental frequency peak. More advanced algorithms, such as those based on spectral analysis or machine learning, also exist and often offer improved robustness in the presence of noise or complex signal variations.
