The YN signal can aid observability, debugging, and decision-making in routing or conflict resolution, but it does not by itself enforce stronger guarantees.

Typical mechanisms that could underlie a practical realization include vector clocks or version vectors to track causality, anti-entropy repair, gossip protocols to propagate updates, or conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs) to enable convergence without centralized coordination. The approach emphasizes eventual convergence across replicas after temporary inconsistencies, in line with standard eventual consistency, while attempting to provide a readable convergence indicator.

Limitations include the overhead of maintaining and transmitting the convergence flag, potential staleness of the indicator, and the risk that the YN signal may misrepresent actual data state if flags desync.
